What is Skill Assessment for Australia?
Skills assessment is the process of assessing qualifications and experience against the suitability of the nominated occupation. Qualification assessment involves evaluating the educational level of qualifications according to the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) and determining their relevance to the nominated occupation.
Employment assessment involves determining whether work experience, whether in Australia or overseas, is at an appropriate skill level and relevant to the nominated occupation. A positive assessment of both qualifications and experience is required for a successful skills assessment, whether for temporary or permanent migration purposes.
